important to sb还是important for sb？

要表达“你对我很重要”，是You are important to me还是You are important for me？

从语法上说，两种说法都是正确的，但从含义上说，二者有区别。

important to sb用于强调“对于某人有情感价值”，既：important to indicates personal or sentimental value, with emotional significance。

important for sb用于强调“对于某人有实用价值”，即：important for indicates a practical benefit, not always an emotional significance）。

因此，要表达“你对我很重要”，通常说You are important to me，而不是You are important for me，因为前者说的是“我们情深意重”，而后者的言外之意是“你可以为我所用”。
