of this previously accepted image修饰not much，该句正常应是这个样子：Not much of this previously accepted image is left. 因为修饰语of this previously accepted image过长而谓语动词is left过短，句子显得头重脚轻，所以修饰语放在了谓语动词后面，形成了分隔修饰。
分隔修饰是一个很常见的现象，尤其是在长句中更为普遍，理解时应准确判断。
